    So anything that is socket 1155 and 35 watt should fit? Where would we source a 35 watt i5 or i3 from? I looked about the net in anticipation but was unable to find anywhere.

      Basically yes that should be okay, as long as it doesn’t require more power phases to be stable. The only consideration is that HP may BIOS lock the unit to the particular CPU ‘product codes’ that they want to use. This would mean swapping in a different CPU would not get past the BIOS during boot.

      That said, we know about hacked BIOSes in the Microserver, I’m sure that sort of limitation could be worked around somehow.
